Trip Overview
The Everest Base Camp Heli Tour is the fastest and most comfortable way to experience the magic of the Everest region without committing to a multi-day trek. In a single morning, this tour takes you from the streets of Kathmandu to the lap of the world’s highest mountain and back again, offering a true Himalayan adventure for travelers short on time, those unable to trek at high altitude, or anyone seeking a luxurious once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel, the helicopter departs Kathmandu and heads east towards the Khumbu region, with a brief refueling stop at the dramatic mountain airstrip of Lukla. From here, the flight continues over Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery, climbing steadily towards the high Himalaya, with sweeping views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Pumori, and Thamserku along the way.
The undoubted highlight of the day is a brief landing at Kala Patthar (approximately 5,545m), widely regarded as the finest viewpoint of Mount Everest anywhere in the region, with the helicopter also offering a close flyover of Everest Base Camp and the dramatic Khumbu Glacier and Icefall below. Due to the extreme altitude, time on the ground here is kept deliberately short, generally around 10-20 minutes, before descending to the more comfortable elevation of Syangboche.
Here, at the legendary Hotel Everest View, one of the highest-altitude hotels in the world, you can relax over a hot breakfast on the terrace, framed by Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, before the helicopter completes the return journey via Lukla to Kathmandu. This tour can be booked as a shared group flight or as a fully private charter, and is generally available throughout the year, weather and visibility permitting, with the clearest conditions usually found in spring and autumn.
Whether you are searching for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour cost, itinerary, Kala Patthar landing details, or best season to fly, this tour offers an efficient and unforgettable way to witness the roof of the world up close.

What our travellers say
“The Manaslu trek is incomparable. It's suitable as a first trek in the Himalayas — plenty of time for acclimatisation and such captivating views that spending time on "altitude sickness" would be a pity. And it's a special pleasure to walk with Krishna. He is a knowledgeable, reliable and brave guide, and a very pleasa…”
