Upon completing passport, immigration, and visa formalities, our representative will greet you outside the terminal building—look for a board displaying your name. From there, we are going to transfer you to your hotel where you'll be able to relax for the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner where you'll meet your guide and receive an arrangement for the upcoming trek. This session also will include a check to confirm you have all the necessary gear. Overnight reside the hotel.
Embark on a captivating day tour of 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the Kathmandu Valley. Your journey includes visits to Swayambhunath, called the "monkey temple," and Kathmandu’s historical Durbar Square, where you may glimpse the Kumari, the living goddess. Explore the artistic heritage of Patan's Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple Pashupatinath, and Bouddhanath, the world's largest stupa. a frenzied car and driver will transport you to every site, waiting while you explore (note: entry tickets and lunch don't seem to be included).
After breakfast, you will be driven to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to catch a flight from the domestic terminal to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. This thrilling flight lands on a tiny low hillside airstrip, marking your arrival within the Khumbu region, just south of Everest. Upon landing, you'll meet your local porters and start your trek by descending into the Dudh Koshi Valley, visiting the villages of Cheplung (2,700m) and Ghat (2,530m). After an extra hour's walk, you'll reach Phakding where you'll spend the night.
Continue your trek through lush pine forests along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing its tributaries towards the Sherpa villages of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, and Jorsale. This path is the gateway to Sagarmatha Park, where you'll experience a permit checkpoint. Marvel at Thamserku, gleaming to the east, as you follow the river to its confluence with the Bhote Koshi. Then, ascend steadily, crossing the high Tenzing-Hilary Bridge, offering your first glimpses of Everest and also the Nuptse-Lhotse ridge. A three-hour climb through more forested terrain brings you to Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region. Spend the night in Namche Bazaar to rest and inure the times ahead.
Today marks your first scheduled acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, crucial for adapting to higher altitudes. The mantra "climb high, sleep low" is essential, so stay active without overexerting yourself. Namche offers modern amenities like ATMs, cyber cafés, restaurants, and bakeries. It also hosts a vibrant market every Friday evening and Saturday morning. Visit the Sagarmatha Park Visitor’s Centre for insights into Sherpa culture and therefore the local ecosystem. For a deeper look at traditional Sherpa life, trek to Khumjung village at 3,780 meters, or for a lighter option, visit the nearby Everest View Hotel at 3,880 meters for stunning mountain vistas. If you feel adventurous, consider a five-hour trek west to Thame, located below the impressive Kongde Ri Ridge at 3,820 meters. This trek offers panoramic Himalayan landscapes distinct from those seen on the Gokyo or Everest Base Camp trails. This varied day provides both leisurely and challenging options to assist your body befits the altitude while enriching your experience of the local culture and environment.
Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail wraps around a hill resulting in Sanasa at 3,600 meters, where you'll encounter a fork within the path: northwest towards Gokyo and northeast towards Everest. Keep a watch out for Himalayan tahrs on position, shy spotted deer, and birds, including the colorful male Danphe pheasant, Nepal’s national bird. Descend to the water-driven prayer wheels at Phunki Thenga, an all-time low point north of Namche at 3,250 meters. After crossing the Dudh Koshi near its confluence with the Imja Khola, lead off a steep two-hour climb through rhododendron forests and dwarf conifers up to the hilltop village of Tengboche. Tengboche offers splendid views of the Everest group and houses a crucial monastery that merits a visit, especially vibrant during the Mani Rimdu festival in October, featuring Tibetan Opera and masked dancing. Spend the night in Tengboche, soaking in the serene atmosphere and cultural richness of this location.
From Tengboche, descend to the quaint stone village of Debuche, which sits at an altitude of three,820 meters and is home to a nunnery. After crossing the Imja Khola, the trail gradually ascends to Pangboche at 3,860 meters, where you will be treated to stunning rear views of the towering Ama Dablam. Continue along the river to its confluence with the Lobuche Khola, then on to Dingboche, the last year-round settlement within the region. Here, walled terraced fields protect crops like barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cruel elements and wildlife. Spend the night in Dingboche, nestled amidst this rugged yet beautiful landscape.
To aid in acclimatization, take a trek from Dingboche north to the Nangkartshang Gompa ridge, situated at 4,800 meters. This viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the Nuptse Glacier, Chhukhung Ri at 4,230 meters—which obscures the glaciers on Lhotse—and Imja Tse (Island Peak) at 6,189 meters. Further east along the Mahalangur Himal Ridge, you'll gaze upon the imposing Makalu, which stands at 8,463 meters. To the south, you’ll see Amphu Lapcha’s fluted ridge at 5,845 meters and a singular perspective of Ama Dablam’s north face and its glaciers. After absorbing these spectacular sights, return to your teahouse in Dingboche to rest and indurate the subsequent leg of your journey.
From Dingboche, begin a gradual ascent to a ridge resulting in the little hamlet of Duse at 4,500 meters, where you will be greeted with western views of Taboche and Cholatse. Continue through the high-altitude pastures, or kharkas, to achieve Duglha at 4,620 meters. From there, undertake a steep climb for about an hour up the vast stony terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. This path is lined with balanced-stone memorials dedicated to climbers who have lost their lives within the mountains. The trail offers views of border peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori to the north, while Everest remains concealed behind the imposing Nuptse-Lhotse wall. End your day in Lobuche, where you may spend the night, preparing for the subsequent phase of your journey towards Everest Base Camp.
From Lobuche, follow a desolate trail along the moraine to Gorak Shep, the last seasonal village situated below the towering Pumori. After an early lunch in Gorak Shep, set out for Everest Base Camp (EBC), located on the Khumbu Glacier opposite the infamous Khumbu Icefall, known for its daunting challenges during Everest ascents. within the high season of April-May, EBC is bustling with porters and vibrant with colorful tents scattered across the glacier. Outside of those months, the campsite is stark and quiet, then again the sounds of nature and occasional avalanches. While Everest and also the Western Cwm remain obscured by the West Ridge, the experience at base camp is unforgettable. After your visit, return to Gorak Shep to spend the night, reflecting on the day’s profound experiences.
From Gorak Shep, commence a pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar, taking approximately 2-3 hours. This trek is rewarded with a spectacular sunrise over Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Changtse, with additional panoramic views of Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Cho Oyo to the west. After soaking in the breathtaking vistas, return to Gorak Shep for breakfast. Post-breakfast, a helicopter will transport you back to Lukla, followed by a flight to Kathmandu's domestic airport. Upon arrival, we'll meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure, reflecting on the incredible experiences of your trek.

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport after breakfast for your flight to your next destination. Please note that cloudy and turbulent weather is common along the mountain ranges, which may result in delays or cancellations of domestic mountain flights. We recommend allowing a minimum of one extra day to accommodate potential changes in travel plans.
